Since 2006 BRAC is working to promote safe migration through awareness campaigns, pre-departure preparation support, networking and advocacy. During the last decade, BRAC has experienced that, safe migration intervention is not sufficient to improve migrant’s life; rather, a more comprehensive service based approach is required. The key factors that increase the chance of exploitation and vulnerability of migrants are the large number of unskilled youth population entering the market every year, irregular migration, extravagant fees charged by the middle man and circular migration. Without technical skilling and job placements, acute unemployment problem of Bangladesh will instigate more people to adopt migration as a livelihood opportunity either through regular or irregular ways and/or means. Simultaneously, reintegration support is also required for successful migration and to prevent circular migration. To ensure a comprehensive support for migrants, Migration programme established an enterprise named BRAC Probashbandhu Ltd (BPL), in 2017, with a goal to ensure safe, skilled, low cost and quality migration for sustainable livelihood.

BRAC Probashbandhu Limited (License No: RL-1199, Certificate Incorporate No: C-110836/13) is one of the leading government approved human resources recruiting agencies registered under Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment of Bangladesh. We connect professional, skilled, semi-skilled and less skilled workers of Bangladesh with overseas employers for a diverse range of sectors. 

We provide end-to-end support for employers and potential migrants from inception to technical skilling and processing of their journey to when they return and reintegrate. We serve our clients through our migration service and training centres currently spread across 3 districts, with potential of expansion through BRAC’s presence across all 64 districts of Bangladesh.
